About Me
My Background
I've recently retired working in industrial sales for many years. I enjoy painting obviously, as well as running, biking, hiking, exploring nature, and weight training. I've practiced and taught martial arts for years and enjoy that too. Just about anything that keeps me active.
My Medium
I use acrylic paints and sometimes oils if the situation calls for it. I've never had any formal training and I've never taken an art class other than the mandatory ones in high school.
My Inspiration
I've always enjoyed hiking in my spare time and many of my pieces are influenced by these hikes. Plus my lifelong love of anything involving nature.
I do mostly landscapes but I've done several landscapes with animals too. I've also done a few abstracts. I'm beginning to branch out into portraits, people and anatomy so that should be interesting.
One must always work at improving oneself and help others to do the same.
I started painting by watching some of the wonderful painters on the PBS station. Bill Alexander, Bob Ross, Wyland's Art, Wilson Bickford and Jerry Yarnell.
They've all, with they're tremendous talent, given me inspiration and an overwhelming love of art that I hope I can carry forward to others.
Once you cross over into art you'll never be the same and if I can do it you can do it.
